Local Attractions & Shops

The park is centrally located on the North West coast of Tasmania and the perfect base to explore some of Tasmania’s popular attractions including Cradle Mountain, Leven Canyon, Gunns Plains Caves and the Tarkine Coast.

With the coastal bike and pedestrian pathway passing by the park visitors can take a short and leisurely stroll into town for a meal at one of the many cafes, bars and hotels. Alternatively for the more adventurous a bike ride awaits through to adjoining townships along the coast, passing by the many parks and playgrounds Ulverstone has to offer.

There is plenty to see and do in and around Ulverstone, including river cruises, pedal buggy hire, farmers markets, breweries, wineries, distilleries and wildlife parks.

The Berry Patch in neighbouring Turners Beach is popular with locals and visitors alike. After a leisurely bike ride or short drive you can pick your own berries, sit down to a gourmet wood fired pizza and watch the kids enjoy the activities on offer to keep the little ones entertained. On the return trip stop for a coffee at the Beach Hut and watch the kids play at Fairway Park or cool off at the Water Slide (summer holidays only). No kids, then continue back through to the wharf precinct in town and sample an ale at Buttons Brewery while taking in the views of the Leven River.
